ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY COACHING

How would it feel to wake up tomorrow and no longer be consumed by thoughts about drugs or alcohol?

To feel at peace in your body and soul? To be able to step into your day with passion and purpose, with dark thoughts and addictive behaviours a distant memory?

Now I can’t wave a magic wand and change addictive behaviours overnight, but I can assure you that if you’re prepared to do the work: lasting positive change is possible.

I have been trained in a client-led approach that believes in tapping into your own innate wisdom and becoming the architect of your own recovery journey.

I trained and certified at the Ubuntu Academy of Coaching and Training (U-ACT), am accredited by the International Coaches Register (ICR) and United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS). I am committed to delivering the highest quality, ethical standards of practice. I take part in regular training and supervision to keep up to date with current standards of practice.

I believe that choosing a life of recovery is an incredibly brave and powerful choice to be proud of. I also know that the path from addiction to wellness is not always linear and requires support.

Our aim through our work together is to co-create a holistic, sustainable recovery.

MY APPROACH

Together we will develop a toolbox of practical strategies to tackle the day-to-day challenges of healing from addiction.

This is know as building your ‘recovery capital’, and usually takes the shape of both:

Reconnecting with ourselves: identifying and releasing old behaviours and beliefs and building healthy new habits. Developing new interests and passions by engaging with the community, exploring holistic health modalities, developing a spiritual practice or following creative pursuits.

Engaging with external supports: coaching is an adjunct service and strong complementary support to other professionals such as therapists, social workers, counsellors, doctors, psychiatrists and others assisting in the field of recovery.

Our work will consider your existing family, workplace and community structure and help you transition into a life within these systems that supports your recovery.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Sometimes we might want to consider bringing in other support that falls outside the scope of coaching, and I am well placed to help you make that decision and find the right professional for you. I am blessed with a very strong network of excellent mental health providers, from psychiatrists to therapists to holistic practitioners. When other professionals are involved in your case, it’s important that we all communicate and keep an open dialogue so that we can all liaise on your treatment plan and ensure that we are working together. My role as case manager means that I would coordinate with all the professionals working with you and make sure things are running smoothly so that you can fully focus on your recovery.

If we feel that you might benefit from more intensive treatment, I have good relationships with a number of in-patient and out-patient providers, both in London, throughout the UK and Internationally.

I can put together a bespoke service built around you and your unique needs. If you do take the decision to embark on a journey of in-patient care, I can walk alongside you every step of the way, helping you choose the right place for you and making sure you get there safely. We would check in with each other during your treatment and I would make sure you have a plan and support system in place for when you come home.

PRE AND POST-TREATMENT COACHING PLAN

  • Coaching works a little bit differently to other talk therapies that you may have experienced.

It is not a prescriptive, dogmatic relationship between expert (me) and student (you), but rather a collaborative partnership that is designed to empower you to make your own best choices on the path to your recovery.

Rather than looking outside for answers, coaching invites you to look inwards and learn to trust the innate wisdom and intuition that exists inside all of us. Developing trust and self-efficacy is something that we will learn to develop throughout our coaching journey together.

I want you to feel safe to be yourself with me. I want you to feel wild, creative and free, to know that you can let it all out, even your darkest sides, in a space free from judgement.

  • Message me on +447855860480 and let’s arrange a time to talk.

If you decide I am the right fit, we will decided on the level and frequency of coaching that feels right for you.

Sessions can be held online, by phone, or in-person.

I am also available for live-in and in person recovery support which can be particularly useful for clients transitioning out of treatment.

    Remember, everyone’s journey is unique.

This will be reflected in our coaching relationship.

  • Please contact me to discuss my rates and current availability. I work on an hourly, day or overnight rate. This is in a case by case basis.
