MY APPROACH

I know how it feels to use food as a weapon.

For many of us, an eating disorder is a manifestation of self-cruelty and control.

A symptom of unprocessed feelings that take shape in the physical but are a signpost towards something much deeper.

Through our coaching relationship we will begin to tune into your own innate wisdom and work on the relationship you have with yourself.

We are going to cultivate the magic within you.

Together we will work on building a strong foundation, combining a practical approach to your current eating behaviours whilst digging deeper to uncover an inner strength you didn’t know you had.


CASE MANAGEMENT

Sometimes we might want to consider bringing in other support that falls outside the scope of coaching, and I am well placed to help you make that decision and find the right professional for you. I am blessed with a very strong network of excellent mental health providers, from psychiatrists to therapists to holistic practitioners. When other professionals are involved in your case, it’s important that we all communicate and keep an open dialogue so that we can all liaise on your treatment plan and ensure that we are working together. My role as case manager means that I would coordinate with all the professionals working with you and make sure things are running smoothly so that you can fully focus on your recovery.

If we feel that you might benefit from more intensive treatment, I have good relationships with a number of in-patient and out-patient providers, both in London, throughout the UK and Internationally.

I can put together a bespoke service built around you and your unique needs. If you do take the decision to embark on a journey of in-patient care, I can walk alongside you every step of the way, helping you choose the right place for you and making sure you get there safely. We would check in with each other during your treatment and I would make sure you have a plan and support system in place for when you come home.

This is not a diet programme.

We do not focus on the ‘what’ of eating, rather the why and the how.

We will work together to develop a toolbox of strategies to tackle the day-to-day challenges of healing from disordered eating.

We will focus on identifying and releasing old habits and behaviours that no longer serve you and building healthy new habits designed to set you up on your path towards food freedom.

  • Coaching works a little bit differently to other talk therapies that you may have experienced.

    It is not a prescriptive relationship between expert (me) and student (you), but rather a collaborative partnership that is designed to empower you to make your own best choices.

    Instead of looking outside for answers, coaching invites you to look inwards and learn to trust the innate wisdom that exists inside all of us.

    Nurturing self belief is a theme that we will learn to develop throughout our coaching journey together.

    Sessions can be held online, by phone, or in-person.

    I am also available for live-in and in person recovery support which can be particularly useful for clients transitioning out of treatment.

    This will be reflected in our coaching relationship.
